write with your whole heart

I believe in writing with my whole body, and I believe that we regenerate stories every time we tell them. That means our stories are as alive as we are.

The necessary resume part: I have been teaching creative nonfiction writing for six years to small workshops in the Pacific Northwest as well as at local colleges. I’ve edited several literary magazines and anthologies including Witchcraft Magazine and Rabble. My published essays and poetry can be found here: ashadore.net

I have a MFA in creative nonfiction writing. I spend my days diving into language in every way I can imagine. I love it.

I am a playwright and a writer and a teacher.

And this » these words on these pages « is my heart.

investigate :: explore :: be active

Every month, you’ll find an essay on craft, explorations of work, and writing exercises designed to generate essays, memoir, flash nonfiction and longer form creative nonfiction and hybrid work.

As in life, in this monthly workshop, we will investigate our own writing processes and perspectives, explore the incredible art and pages that are already awake in the world around us, and look for new lights to shine on our own stories.

“Asha’s prompts bring writing into my real life” - Carrie A.

“I love the new and strange ways Asha connects what’s happening in the world to art and storytelling. With her lessons and prompts, I learn as much about craft as I learn about myself.” - Niani Z.
