poem walk 19
Every Sunday, I’ll publish a poem walk - or other activity that brings flash nonfiction to the front.
In a poem walk, the writer goes on a stroll and “writes” and memorizes a poem, then puts it to the page when they arrive home. The prompt for this week is: the remembered
While walking, think about a person who you spend the most time with. What part of their body do you remember the most when you think about them? Their smile? Their hands? Their eyes? Their shoulders? Describe this part of their body. Think about what organic or non organic objects their body part reminds you of. Are their hands like vines? Their shoulders like concrete or metal? Remember as much of this description as you can on your walk.
When you get home, you can use your “poem” as a stand alone piece or use it to begin writing a page. For this one, I suggest capping at 500 words.
